Scarecrow in the Park is in its 22ND year and we are excited to be presenting our 13th year with the wonderful addition of local artists & craftspeople. We continue to enhance our event with live music, delicious food, activities for children and families, the annual tractor parade, and more! We hope you will join us for this annual favorite!

General Contest
Our General Scarecrow Contest is OPEN TO EVERYONE!
Humor, wit and creativity are encouraged and required! Most of all, have FUN!
Scarecrows in this contest will be judged in 4 categories. Winner of each category receives a $100 prize!
Business Contest – NEW!
In addition to holding our annual classroom contest, we are adding a BUSINESS / COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION theme this year. Build a scarecrow that best represents your business and you could win a rotating prize / trophy to be displayed at your place of business year round.
Think about it … $5 for prime advertising!
Classrooms!
Every year our mission is to bring community made scarecrows to Cushman Park. Every year we invite all of our local Elementary schools to participate in our famous classroom scarecrow contest. The winning Scarecrow wins a cash prize and a PIZZA PARTY!

We couldn’t make this happen with all of our local vendors, artists and craftspeople! We are now taking applications for Scarecrow in the Park 2026!
All proceeds from this event benefit the Bernardston Kiwanis Scholarship Fund and their community projects. Kiwanis International, founded in 1915, is a volunteer service club headquartered in Indiana and is found in more than 80 nations. Current membership in Kiwanis is nearly 600,000 members strong, annual fundraising is more than $100 million dollars, and Kiwanis reports over 18 million volunteer hours to strengthen communities and serve children. Kiwanis provides leadership and service opportunities for youth through its Service Leadership Programs, including Key Club, Circle K, Builders Clubs, and K-Kids.
